Umetniška fotografija je predvsem tista zvrst fotografije, kjer želi avtor  posneto fotografijo nekaj sporočiti. V smislu, da se avtor sooča z nekimi problemi, osebnimi ali globalnimi in se vse to izraža skozi fotografijo. Zagotovo bi se dalo izpostaviti veliko različnih momentov, izhodišč, motivacij, fenomenov, vsebin in vidikov, ki jih danes pokriva umetniška fotografija.

Artistic photography is the type of photography where the author wants to convey something to the photograph taken. In the sense that the author is facing some problems, personal or global, and all of this is expressed through photography. Certainly, many different moments, starting points, motivations, phenomena, contents and aspects that are covered by art photography today could be highlighted.
